Lois Roberts, born March13, 1931 the youngest of 12 brothers and sisters passed away August 13, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Roberts whom she married in 1954; new born son, Michael Lewis; parents, James William Key and Ida Todd Key; brothers, Rufus, Arnold, Coy, Donald and Kenneth Key; sisters, Stacie Whittaker, Ethel Yeary, Myrtle Key, Violet McCormick, Golda Stepp and Evelyn Henry.
She is survived by her son, Franklin Roberts and wife, Jackie; daughter, Debbie and husband, Chuck Nance; grandsons, Benjamin and wife, Ashley, Roberts and Aaron Nance; granddaughters, Lydia and husband, Andrew Roberts Austin, Chloe Nance and Esme Nance and fiancé, Blake Burris; 4 great grandsons, Isaiah Austin, Jacob Austin, McCall Roberts and Aylor Roberts; 27 nieces and nephews; numerous great, great and great great great nieces and nephews.
Lois was born in Clarkrange, TN. She attended school through the 8th grade in a two-room school at Martha Washington, attended 4 years of High School at Clarkrange. She also attended Carson Newman College, taught school one year at Martha Washington which was a one teacher school that year with 6 grades. Lois was saved in a revival at the age of eleven. She joined the Southern Baptist Church at Mount Union in Clarkrange. She came to Harriman to work where she met her husband. They came to Wartburg in 1967 and joined Liberty Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Liberty Baptist Church in Wartburg from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Paul Frick officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Church Cemetery.
