Billie Freels of Lancing, TN

Billie K. Freels, age 84, of Lancing went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2020.

After graduating Belmont University in Nashville, she started her career teaching at Lancing Elementary and later at Wartburg Central High School in Wartburg.  She changed her career in state government to work for the Dept of Human Services where she retired with many years of services, as a director of the Morgan County office.  After retirement she spent time traveling, gardening, caring for her pets and loved working with children in helping them with their education.

She is preceded in death by her father, William “ Wild Bill” Keeton, of Lancing; mother, Polly Griffith Keeton; sister, Marian Potter and husband Paul; sister, Alice Vertner and husband, Buddy; brothesr, Winfield Keeton and Julien and infant brother, Clay.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Aunt Bill will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Billie’s wishes were to be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time.
