Charlotte Irene Robinson

Charlot Irene (Kirkley) Robinson, age 88, passed on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Sunbright, TN. She was born May 8, 1938 in Oakland, IL, the daughter of John Henry Kirkley and Pearl (Jones) Kirkley. On October 1, 1954 she married William Warren Robinson in Westfield, IL; they shared 65 years of marriage before he passed away December 2019.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Robinson of Greencastle, IN; Betty Brown of Sunbright, TN; Valerie Robinson of Greenwood, IN and David Paul Robinson of Bedford, England; sister, Darlene Uttley of Mattoon, IL; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, a vast amount of extended family and close friends, Connie Smith and Nilda England. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, William and Jonathan; grandsons, Bobby and Larry; son in law, Roy; daughter in law, Karen; five brothers and six sisters.

Charlot was a homemaker, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. She had various jobs in younger years but raising and caring for her family was always her priority. Charlot had a quote she lived by “Raising kids was my choice. I gave up things and went without them. I regret nothing… My life was, is and will always be for my children, no matter how big they get. They didn’t ruin my life, they gave me a whole new view of the meaning of life”.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Markwell Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Emrich officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday at Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL.
