Della Long, of Petros, TN

Della Nunley Long of Petros, TN., born September 11, 1943, passed away May 12, 2019 at Methodist Medical Center.  She was surrounded by loved ones, who loved her very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eva Nunley; husband, Floyd “Hoot” Long, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Floyd “Hoot” Long, Jr. and wife, Shasta; 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Griffith of Lafollette, Seth and Jordan Long of Petros; great granddaughters, Natalie and Maycie; brothers and sisters, Baxter (Shelby) Trail of Petros, Bobby Nunley of Petros, Barbara Massengale and Judy Franklin of Petros, George Nunley (Von) of Evansville; brother-in-law, Don Long (Nora) of Harriman and she leaves a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Petros.  She was a active member/officer of Sunrise Chapter #364 Order of the Eastern Star for 56 years.  She enjoyed meeting every month with her classmates of 1961 and enjoyed meeting with her “Petros Gals”.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 17, 2019 at Petros First Baptist Church in Petros from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Long and Dr. Jim West officiating.  Graveside services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the New Petros Cemetery in Petros.
