Earvie Hamby

Earvie Blanche Hamby, age 80 passed away May 6, 2025 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.

Earvie never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her. As a child, she attended elementary school at Oak Hill School in Gobey, TN. She was a lover of music and was a faithful attendee at Rocky Fork Jamboree for many years. She attended church at Macedonia Church and later the Church of the Nazarene in Wartburg. Earvie attended the Advantage Center in Wartburg where she enjoyed socializing and working with friends.

She is preceded in death by parents Willie and Clyde Hamby; brothers: Luther Hamby, Tilman Hamby, Harrison Hamby, and Junior Hamby; Sisters: Rose (Hamby) Greene, Shirley (Hamby) Schaeffer, Elsie Hamby; Nephews: Thomas Teasley, David Greene, and Glen Rhea

She is survived by sisters Anna (Hamby) Ward, Linda (Hamby) Ridings, Mattie (Hamby) Rhea; brother: Charles (Gus) Hamby and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the LifeCare Center of Morgan County for their care and kindness to Earvie.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 9, 2025 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Bro. Joey Aytes officiating. Interment will following in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Lancing.
