Eva Hall

September 25, 1919 — December 22, 2009

Eva Hall

Mrs. Eva Myrtle Greene Hall, passed away suddenly at home in Wartburg, Monday night, December 21, 2009. She was born September 25, 1919, in Wartburg.
She was married in 1939 to Ira Hall, and for over 30 years they ran Ira Hall's Grocery and Hall's Department Store in Wartburg. She was active in the Central High School Band Boosters in the 50's and 60's helping raise money for new uniforms. After retiring from her own store, Granny remained a fixture in town, working for years at Duncan's Department Store, and "volunteering" at Wick's Florist until the day of her passing.

Granny was blessed to be active and healthy her entire life. She was very involved in the activities of the Wartburg Nazarene Church, where she attended since 1965. She loved sports, both watching on TV and attending, seeing several Braves, Vols, and Titans games. She was a huge Yankees fan, (much to Darenda's dismay and Del's delight), and was thrilled when they won the Series this year. She also attended most of her great-grandkids' activities, including soccer and baseball games, band competitions, and concerts, traveling frequently to Nashville and Maryville for them. She loved working in her flowers, and could be often found swinging a mattock in the yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Simmons Hall; parents; Roy and
Dora Stewart Greene, sister and brother-in-law; Delcia and Rueben Jones; brothers; Floyd, Russell and Raymond Greene.

Mrs. Hall is survived by daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Bill Shannon of Wartburg.
Granddaughter and husband; Darenda and Curtis Bivens of Pegram, Tn, and
great-grandchildren; Amelia and James Reid Bivens; grandson and wife; Del and Laura Shannon of Knoxville, and great-grandchildren; Dallas, Luke, Gabriel and Eva Shannon.
Daughter and son-in-law; Patricia and David McDaniel of Wartburg, grandson and wife; Mike and Janet Goddard of Wartburg, and great-grandson; Mikey, granddaughter and husband Kim and Bobby Bannister of Coalfield and great-grandchildren Craig and Jennifer Ward of Coalfield.

with Rev. Norman Cox officiating.
