Garland R. Heidel

Garland Ralph Heidel, 83, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, TN.  He was born in Wartburg, TN on September 4, 1940, to Carl H. and Thelma L. (Moore) Heidel.  He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wartburg, TN. 

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Delonha (Donnie) Spradlin Heidel, grandchildren, Alexander David Heidel, Dakota Robert Heidel, great-granddaughter Sydney Heidel, his parents Carl & Thelma Heidel, his father and mother-in-law Gorman and Geneva Spradlin, brothers-in-law James Spradlin and Louis Basler.

He is survived by his children, Charles (Chuck) and Ann Heidel, Lee and Denise Heidel, Allen Heidel, Robert (Rob) and Stacey Heidel, and Lorie and Richard Marcum.  Grandchildren, Jessica and Andy Webb, James Heidel, Derek Heidel and fiancée Vanessa Smith, Jennifer and Troy Arquette, Amber and Nick Watson, Dustin and Teresa Heidel, Logan and Kristie Heidel, Amelia, Larry, and Alexandra Marcum.  Great-Grandchildren, Elizabeth Webb, Dewayne and  Ella Heidel, Abigail Kate Heidel, Aiden and Aria Arquette, Lily Watson, Charlotte and Clara Heidel and coming in November Colt Heidel.  Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Arnetta Basler, Ida Mae and Wayne Hamby, Shirley and Benny Parks.  Sisters-in-law Norma Price, Carolyn Spradlin, Pamela Kay and Wayne Gibbs, Sandra and Michael Roysden, Debra and John Mallett. Brother-in-law Steve and Sue Spradlin.  Special great nephew Joseph Childs.  Special friend Patty Heidel.   And a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that a memorial be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 67, Wartburg, TN  37887

The family will receive friends Friday, October 20, 2023 at Schubert Funeral Wartburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wartburg with Pastor David Graves officiating.  Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg.
