Glen "Russ" Hensley

January 14, 1956 — May 7, 2025

Glen “Russ” Raymond Hensley of Burrville went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2025 after a long battle of kidney and heart disease. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son and uncle. He retired from Brushy Mountain Correctional Complex later Morgan County Regional Complex after 30 years of service. He cherished many long-term relationships that he developed during that time. He loved fishing and dirt track racing. He loved his family dearly but especially his grandchildren and more recently, his great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by her son Christopher Dale Hensley; loving parents Raymond and Joann Hensley; brother Roger Hensley; special nephew Brian Hensley. He is survived by his wife, Mary Anna McGrath Widick-Hensley; son Jason Hensley; step-children Mary Beth (Craig) Griffith, Joshua (Melina) Widick, Katie (Justin) Walsh, Maggie Widick; two brothers Jerry Hensley and Wayne (Carol) Hensley; three sisters Teresa Hensley, Linda Hensley, and Mary Lou Hensley; grandchildren Austyn (Grace) Hensley, Carrigan Hensley, and Mason Hensley; great grandchildren Hadley and Lainey Hensley; a very special cousin Danny (Marie) Brown, long time friends Robert (Lana) Rinker and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Russ has requested cremation with ash burial. Graveside services will tentatively be held for close family and friends on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Additional information will be announced as it becomes available.
