Glenn Griffith

Mr. Glenn Griffith (12-15-1927) went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 1, 2009. Glenn lived a life wrapped in the love of Jesus and lived by example, the servant hood of Christ. Many throughout the years had something repaired by his capable and generous hands. A gentleman of the "old school", he stands as a shining example to those who would emulate his Christ-like qualities and virtues. He served in the U.S. Army near the close
of WW II and as a deacon of Annadell Baptist Church for over 30 years. As an employee of TVA, he set a high standard of quality and diligence from the time he began in 1951 until he retired in 1988.
He was preceded in death by parents: Oda and Kansas Griffith; by his siblings: Will, Carl, Nora, Alcie, Oma, Clem, and Emmett; and by his much loved wife of 50 years, Martha Robbins Griffith. His life was never quite the same without her constant presence, friendship, and love.
He will be greatly missed by his son and daughter-in-law: Keith and Debbie Griffith and their children, Jacob, Taylor, and Callie; and by his son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Missy Griffith and their children, Dillon, Hayley, Caitlin, Madison, Tucker, Kelsey, Brianna, Ethan, and Fallon. Our families are poorer for the death of such a great man, but our lives are richer for having the memories he left us and the godly heritage he passed along to us.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 3rd, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Annadell Baptist Church in Lancing. A service will be held in his honor at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Goodman and Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. A graveside service will be held at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Scott County on Wednesday, November 4th at 11:00 a.m. where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife. Glenn would have us remember one thing: know Jesus, live, walk, trust, and rest in Him. We cherish the memories of his faithful love for all, which was rooted in Jesus' faithful love for him.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Lone Mountain Cemetery Fund.
