Irene Stewart

Granny Irene (Newport) Stewart of Wartburg passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the age of 97. She was a member of Macedonia Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Stewart and infant son, Barney Ray; her parents, Barney and Lilly Newport; brothers, Edd and Burl Newport; sisters, Della Newport and Betty Pennington.

She is survived by three daughters; Faye Collins of Wartburg, Barbara Keathley of Clinton and Reba Gilmore of Oakdale; one sister, Kathryn Morrison of Marseilles, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00PM with Bro. John Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery, Lancing, TN.
