James Byrd

James (Jim) Hale Byrd, age 83 of Lancing Tennessee passed away, Thursday, October 11, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was born May 27th 1929. A Veteran of the US Air Force where he served from 1950 to 1952 in New Foundland. He retired from Martin-Marietta, Oak Ridge TN in 1991. He was preceded in death by Father: H.C. Byrd, Mother: Dallie Daugherty Brannon, son: Daniel H. Byrd and Grandson: Brad Byrd II.

Mr. Byrd was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife of 57 years: Kathleen L. Byrd
Also Surviving are Sons: James R. Byrd and wife Pamela and Brad Byrd and wife Buffy of Wartburg, Michael D.Byrd, Mark Byrd and Joel Byrd and wife Jill of Lancing,
Daughter: Kelly Gosnell and Husband Lacy of Wartburg
Sister: Ruby Greene of Indiana
Special Brother-In-Law: Doug Melton
Granddaughters: Lauren, Lyndsay, Jerrika, Bethany, Abigail, Ali and Kaylee

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 6 t0 8:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00pm with Bro. Charles Webb officiating. A graveside Service with full Military Honors will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Clear Creek Cemetery, Lancing.
