James Jones

Mr. James Thomas (Tommy) Jones, age 82 of Petros Junction passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge. He was a Veteran of the Korean War and a faithful member and Deacon of Union Baptist Church. He served as a County Commissioner for 24 years and also served on the Election Commission for Morgan County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Petros Chapter. Tommy loved helping people and had a heart of Gold. He was preceded in death by his parents: Verdie and Sally (Wilson) Jones, Sisters: Ruby Wells and Katie Duncan, Brothers: Leighton Jones and John H. Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 59 Years: Sue Kelly Jones
Daughters: Cindy Jones Hearne and husband Tim, Robin Jones
Brother: Raymond Jones
Niece: Judy Duncan
Also, several other nieces and nephews and lots of Special Friends

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00PM with Rev. Ronald Guthrie officiating. Graveside Services will be Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Union Cemetery, Wartburg.
