Jessie Lee Barnes- Norris

Jessie Lee Norris, age 82 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Friday, June 14, 2026. Jessie was born November 10, 1943 in Sunbright, Tennessee, and was a member of the Alvin community since 1976. Jessie was a school bus driver for 36 years, 35 of which she spent with Alvin ISD. Jessie also owned Norris Interiors in Alvin. Jessie enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, riding motorcycles and going back to visit her home state of Tennessee to see her family every chance she got. She also had an abundance of love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which she held dear to her heart.

Jessie is preceded in death by her husband Hubert A. Norris; parents Buela Irene and Bethlehem “Slim” Barnes; brothers Barney, Van, Roland and John Barnes.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Trudy Crouch; son Marty Norris and girlfriend Amy Wright; sisters Phyllis Simpson, Claudean Davis, and Mary Lois Moffette; grandchildren Wendi Crouch-Shutts, Clayton Crouch and wife Whitney, Christie Lee McAninch and husband Garry Jr., Jennifer Dorrell and husband Jonathan, Stacey Norris and boyfriend Sebastian Fields; greatgrandchildren Savanna, Hailey, Parker, Isabella, Henry, Marcus, Nevaeh, Avery and Faith and special person to be mentioned Lisa Bradford, as well as numerous other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Sunbright Church of God in Sunbright from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Sunbright Church of God in Sunbright with interment to follow in the Sunbright Cemetery.
