Elder James Thomas (Jim) Campbell, age 76 of Wartburg, TN went to his heavenly home on June 24, 2025.

James proudly served in the US Army for 7 years, including serving in Vietnam and eventually becoming in Army recruiter. James was ordained as a Primitive Baptist Minister on September 16, 1978. James preached at various churches in Grainger, Union, and Blount counties. He was previously an Assistant Pastor at Gethsemane Primitive Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tn and pastor of Mossy Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Harriman, Tn.

James is preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Campbell; mother Billie Giles Godfrey, and brothers Robert Cecel and Jack Ray Campbell of Claxton, Tn.

James leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Aslinger Campbell; precious daughter Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Campbell; brother Elder Roger Lee (Glenda) Campbell of Athens, Tn and sister Judith (Frank) Parson of Claxton, Tn.

James also leaves behind many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved dearly.

The family will have a graveside service Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Morgan Memorial Gardens with Elder Roger Campbell and Elder Daniel Wood officiating.
