Jimmy Barber

Elder Jimmy Keith Barber, age 81, of Harriman, TN, passed away on December 9th, 2025. He was an attentive Pastor to multiple congregations throughout the years, avid scholar of the Bible and Theology, and published author. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2017 and was a beloved coworker and friend to many there. It was a common sight to see him outside of his home in Mossy Grove wearing overalls, cutting firewood, and chewing on a toothpick. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Barber, his mother, Lurlene Barber and his son, Samuel Keith Barber.

He is survived by his brother, Harry Barber; his children Heather Petersen (Gregg), Matthew Barber (Meagan), Raven Cawthon, Renee Barber, and Daniel Barber; his grandchildren, Copelin Petersen, Annelise Petersen, Shane Barber, Claire Barber, Erik Barber, and Syler Otis.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 12, 2025 at Schubert Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m., Elder Zack Guess officiating. The family has requested a private graveside service.
