John C. Bales of Harriman, TN

John Carolos Bales born in Wartburg, TN, July 26, 1918 passed on to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was a WWII Veteran and POW – Honorably discharged on November 2, 1945. He was previously married to the late Neil Daniels Bales (first wife) and Susie “Geri” Bales (2nd wife). He was a former employee of Goodyear and General Tire in Akron, OH.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Minni Belle Johnson Bales; siblings: Evelyn Graybeal, Mary Goldberg, Lizzy Hall, Earl Bales, James Bales and wife, Susie G. Bales; son, Carl E. Bales and daughter-in-law, June Bales.

He is survived by 6 grandchildren: Donna Meunier, Randall Bales, Jeff Bales, Pam Bales, Debbie Thomas, Johnny Bales; 15 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Nelson officiating. Graveside will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Wartburg City Cemetery.
