Johnny Armes, 71, of Petros began the path that led him into the arms of Jesus and the beautiful homecoming in Heaven with his family waiting for him on Sunday, January 29, 2023. We know they were as happy to be rejoined with him as we are heartbroken to be separated, even for a short time.
Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Joy Armes; parents Morgan and Carrie Armes; brothers Billy, Fred, Morgan Jr., Jimmie, Steve and special cousin Sidney Armes; sisters Agnes Thompson, Carolyn Armes, Tate Trout, and Martha Armes, infant and loving nephew Joshua Crouch and a host of numerous uncles, aunts, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, granddaughter, many special friends and his mother-in-law Rhoda Dagley who was always on his side.
He is survived by his son TC Armes, daughters April Hutcherson, Nina (Andy) Moore, and Kerri (Adam) Carroll; grandchildren Kera (Brad) Frederick, Allie Patterson, Andrew Moore, Micah (Jake) Cooley, Johnny Carroll, Peyton Hutcherson, Anthony Hembree, John Thomas and Vincent Potter; great grandchildren Bailey, Brady, Bentley, Cashlyn and Joy Patterson, Milah and Jase Cooley; brother Joe Armes and wife, Randi; sister Gerilda Armes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Nina Calvert and brother-in-law Buck Dagley; sisters-in-law Ann Dagley and Barbara Majors and a host of nieces, nephews, too many to count but he counted every one of them.
Johnny was the rock of the family that we all leaned on. He loved the mountains, hunting, his dogs, and most of all, his family and friends who he always stood with, no matter what.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Schubert Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Schubert Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Johnny Armes.
