Juanita Newport

Juanita Newport, age 95, of Wartburg, Tennessee, passed away on August 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 31, 1930, Juanita lived a life marked by resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.

A lifelong resident of Morgan County, Juanita was known for her steadfast commitment to those she held dear. She married Garland Newport on December 20, 1946, and together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and service. Juanita was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Ander Terry and Bertha Sexton Terry, and her beloved husband Garland and daughter, Geneva Melhorn.

Survived by her children, son,Garland Newport and wife Anita of Jefferson City, TN, daughters, Barbara Newport of Wartburg, TN and Roberta Price and husband Keith of Lenoir City, TN, sister, Evelyn Caraway of Memphis, TN, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family who will miss her deeply.

The family will have a Graveside service, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 11am at the Liberty Church Cemetery, Wartburg, with Bro. Keith Price officiating.
