  Laura June McGee Johnson died Friday, July 29, 2011 in Nashville, Tennessee
  
  after a short illness.  June was born in Oakdale, Tennessee on July 23,
  
  1934.  She was married to Walter W. Johnson of Greeneville, Tennessee from
  
  1955 until his death in 2000.
 
  June graduated from Oakdale High School before earning her R.N. from Baptist
  
  Hospital School of Nursing in 1956.  After several years of nursing in
  
  Harriman, Tennessee and then in Greeneville, Tennessee and teaching Licensed
  
  Practical Nursing, June returned to The University of Tennessee to earn her
  
  bachelor of science degree in Education in 1976. For several years, she
  
  taught nursing to high school students and served on the national advisory
  
  board of the Health Occupations Student Association.  She returned to
  
  nursing full-time and finished her career at Tacoma Hospital and then The
  
  Mountain Home Veterans Administration Hospital in Johnson City.  She was
  
  active at both First Baptist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee and Piney
  
  Baptist Church in Oakdale, Tennessee.
 
  June is preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Johnson, both parents
  
  Lonnie E. McGee and Laura Langley McGee of Oakdale.
 
  She is survived by one son, Bradley T. Johnson of Harriman, a daughter and son-in-law Pamela and Evans Clements and one granddaughter, Langley Clements of Nashville, a
  
  brother and sister-in-law, Pat and JoAnne McGee of Harriman, a sister and
  
  brother-in-law Joyce and Bob Lloyd, of Rock Springs, Georgia.  She also
  
  leaves several sisters and brothers-in-law including Lois Johnson, Lorene
  
  Adkins, Luella Treadway-Jones and J.W. Jones, of Jonesboro and Annie and
  
  Gene Peterson of Erwin as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins and
  
  friends.
 
  The family will receive friends from 1-3 at Piney Baptist Church in Oakdale,
  
  Tennessee on Monday, August 1st with the service at 3:00 pm.  Burial will
  
  follow immediately in Piney Baptist Church Cemetery.
  
  Schubert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
