Mary Shannon Newberry of Wartburg went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2023 after a brief
illness at Park West Hospital. She had been a resident of Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veteran’s
Home since October 2022. Those who knew her consistently say she was “always smiling” and
she absolutely loved to get out of the house and go places. It didn’t matter where! She enjoyed
working puzzles, sewing, and cooking. Her Chicken & Dumplings and special cakes were the
best ever! Most of all she loved being around family, and she will be greatly missed by all who
were blessed to know her.
