Morris Young

Mr. Morris Kesler Young, Age 71, passed away Jan 15, 2010 at his home in
the Joyner Community. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He is retired from Y-12 where he worked as a Machinist. He formerly owned a CB business in Joyner where he was known as Beardog. He also owned a HAM radio business and his call sign was KC4-TGN. He worked as a field deputy for the Morgan County Sheriffs department. He worked with Disabled American Veterans group to help veterans receive benefits and took anyone who needed transportation to the veteran's hospitals in both Nashville and Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Roscoe and Violet Young of the Burrville community and his oldest daughter , Karen Lee, who passed away on January 4, 2010 . He is survived by his wife of 47 years , Patricia Young of Joyner; sons ; James Paul Young and wife Linda of Georgia, Kesler Young and wife Jennifer of Joyner ; Daughters Darlene Mayton and husband Phillip of Coalfield,
Bernadine Poole and husband Joseph of Wartburg
Brothers ; Owen Young and wife Pauline of North Carolina, Thomas Young and wife Lila of Alabama. Sister's ; Rebecca Worthley and husband Ed of Burrville, Sharon Cox and husband Harry of Elizabethton, Virginia Ooten and husband Porter of Kingston
Grand Children; Tracie Van Dyke, Jennie Fisher, Brandi Lee, J.P. Young, Cherie Hughett, Kristie Shannon, Army Spec. Aaron Young, Lauren Young;
Navy IT2 Daniel Mayton, Kaleb Mayton, Sarah Mayton, Eugene Poole, Benjamin Poole, Ryan Poole, Joshua Cooper, Jeremy Cooper, Jared Cooper.
14 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren

Family will receive friends Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. Homer Hook and Rev. Mike Jernigan Officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, 10 A.M. Union Cemetery.
