Myrtle Poe Goodson

Myrtle Poe Goodson passed away peacefully after a long illness Saturday, January 23, 2021, at her residence.  Myrtle was born December 6, 1937 in Washington County, Virginia to Clyde Poe & Cora Osborne.  She moved with her family to the Chestnut Ridge Community in Morgan County, Tennessee when South Holston Dam took their land in the 1940s.  Myrtle graduated from Sunbright High School, and made her home in Lancing.   Myrtle was active member of the community.  She was a member of Potters Chapel Baptist Church, and a master quilter.

She is survived by husband of 60 years, Charles, her daughter, Peggy (John) Rochelle, sons Charlie (Sheila), Joe, and David (Jeri); grandchildren Allison Rochelle, K.W. Goodson, and Alex Goodson.

Friends and family are welcome to stop by to pay their respects from the hours of 11:00-6:00 p.m Monday, January 25, 2021 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg.  Funeral and graveside services will be private.
