Mrs. Nellie Ruth Heidel Bingham, age 92, of Manchester, Tennessee, formerly of the Pine Orchard Community, went to be with her "Lord and Savior", July 24, 2009, at the Manchester Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Louise Heidel of Wartburg. She was married to Raymond Bingham on April 27th, 1936. She graduated from Central High School in Wartburg, Tennessee and later became a teacher at Central Elementary School in Wartburg and White Oak School. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and received her B.S. degree in education and served in Morgan County schools for 30 years. She taught at Pine Orchard Elementary school and later served as Principal. When the school was closed, she began teaching at Oakdale School and also served as Vice Principal there, until her retirement in 1979.
She was a member of the Pine Orchard Baptist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and Tennessee Retired Teachers Association. In 1978, she was chosen as Morgan County Teacher of the year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bingham; brothers: Roscoe Heidel, Johnny Heidel, and Lee Heidel; and sister: Dorene Heidel Blair.

She is survived by her daughter: Margie Bingham Deal and husband, Ray of Rockwood, Tennessee; son: Ron Bingham and wife, Rebecca of Manchester, Tennessee; sisters: Minnie Lou Heidel Bernard and Ted Bernard of Florida, Lena Heidel Basler and Johnny of Harriman, Tennessee; and brothers: Billy Heidel and Joyce, and Lewis Heidel of Florida; five grandchildren: Steve and B.J. Summers, Roger and Dana Summers, Brenda and Dennis O'Dell, Ashleigh Bingham, and Kristen and Derrick Bryan; eleven great-grandchildren, and thirteen great, great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, July 25th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Wayne Nelson officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Pine Orchard Church Cemetery.
