Randolph Carroll Lovegrove, age 73, passed away on at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville Tennessee after a long battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Joni W Lovegrove and father of David Brian and Jonathan Daniel Lovegrove.
“Randy” was born in Elizabethton Tennessee. He grew up in Oak Ridge Tennessee, graduate of Oak Ridge High School and University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Randy worked as City Engineer for the City of Oak Ridge for several years and worked over 25 years for Viskase in Loudon, Tennessee as Quality Assurance Manager.
Randy was an avid fowl hunter and fisherman. He was a long-time member of Ducks Unlimited and the Wild Turkey Federation. He particularly enjoyed the annual dove hunt with friends and family and his yearly hunting trips to Saskatchewan.
Randy enjoyed time on the lake, especially bass fishing and pontoon boat rides with friends and family. He loved traveling, helping others with projects, outdoor grilling, UT ballgames, college and professional sports, NASCAR racing, winemaking, holidays and visiting with neighbors and friends.
Randy is survived by his wife of 45 years; Joni Lovegrove, his sons; David Lovegrove (Kara), Daniel Lovegrove (Amanda), grandchildren; Mary, Miller, Maggie and Evie Lovegrove. Special “aunt and uncle”; Margaret and “Hooney” Walls, and sister, Susan Deboard.
Proceeded in death by parents; Jack and Katherine M. Lovegrove, grandparents; Arthur and Hattie O Lovegrove, William and Bessie F Markland.
A memorial service with the Rev. Larry Dipboye officiating, was held at Schubert’s Funeral Home on . Interment followed at Liberty Baptist Church.
