Richard Lewis Young, Wartburg, TN

Richard Lewis Young, born July 6, 1948 went to his Heavenly home Saturday December 31, 2016. He was a decorated Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenice and Jessie Young; brothers, James and Carl Young; and grandson, Aaron Gunter.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Redmon Young; children, Bridgette Branam, Brian (Areatha) Weaver, and Ursula Young; grandchildren, Teiara Sizemore, Brianna Weaver, Daniele Williams, and Alissa Laymance; six great grandchildren; brother, Jack (Nancy) Young; sisters, Judy (Ronnie) Redmon, Sue Young, Mary Lee (Danny) Smith, Barb (Jerry) Ward; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon- 1:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. The funeral will be held at 1:00 with Dr. Paul Frick officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Oak Ridge, TN.
