Mr. Thomas Powers, age 78, passed away Saturday morning May 25, 2013 at his home in Oakdale, TN surrounded by his loving family. He was a retired Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Harriman, TN

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; Clara "Jean" Helton Powers,
Sons; Steven Powers of Oakdale, Bradley and wife Melissa Powers of Oakdale,
Daughters; Gail Powers Blanton and husband Buddy of Rockwood, Janice Powers Winters and husband Dave of Oakdale, Cynthia Powers Bunch and husband Ted of Oakdale,
10 grandchildren, 1 granddaughter-in-law and 1 great-grandchild,
Sisters; Ima Powers Sutton of Grant, Ala., Dorothy Powers Kaufman and husband Clarence of Lebanon, Ohio
Brothers; William E. Powers of Wartburg, Donald Powers and wife Wanda of Oakdale.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 6-8:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m. in the Crab Orchard Cemetery Oakdale, TN with full military honors
