Velma Howard, of Lancing, TN

Velma Davis Howard, age 85, left this life on December 11, 2018.

Velma loved God, her family, home and Oak Grove Church and devoted her life to them.  She always had a smile and a kind word for all she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gerta Davis, Brothers Ervin, George and Grady Davis and Sister Reba Davis Branstetter.  Velma is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne D. Howard, Daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dale Lavender.  Granddaughter Kristen Lavender Pugh and husband Austin, and great-granddaughter Natalie Elaine Pugh, all of Lancing.  Sisters Grace Davis Schirmer of Knoxville and Lena Davis Barnett of Lancing.  Brother-in-law Sidney Howard and wife Bessie of Oakdale and Sister-in-law Wanda Howard Dunlap and husband Jim of Spring Hill, FL along with many nephews and nieces and wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Bro. Rick Taylor and Bro. Jim Dunlap officiating.  Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Lancing, TN.
