Wayne Brewster, 77

Wayne Lafayette Brewster, 77, of Brewstertown, TN, passed away on November 27, 2018 peacefully in his sleep while at his son’s house in Rowlett, TX.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on December 2, 2018 at the Brewstertown Cemetery. Burial arrangements are being handled by Schubert Funeral Home.

Wayne was born in Burrville, TN via a mid-wife from Oneida, TN on January 12, 1941. He graduated from Sunbright High School.

Wayne worked as a machine operator at the Dallas, TX Vitallic Battery Company for 10 years, a self-employed carpenter for several years and a coal and an owner-operator fuel truck driver for over a combined time of 30-plus years. As a carpenter, he was instrumental in working for the Rugby Restoration Association to restore many structures in the Rugby Community to include the Uffington House, Pioneer Cottage and relocating entire physical structures to recreate the commissary row buildings. He enjoyed spending time outdoors regardless of the activity or chore, or just watching the grass grow while thoroughly enjoying time with his friends and family. He was also a Master Mason in good standing with the Emerald Lodge #377 in Wartburg, TN.

Wayne is survived by his two children, Tracy A. and Roger W. Brewster; his two grandchildren Wayne A. and A. Katie; his great granddaughter Aubrey Elizabeth; his sister Jessica and brother Jesse.

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse W. Brewster and Ellen Crisp Brewster; his sisters Vida, Violet, Juanita, Nina and Daisy; his brothers Onvie and Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the F&AM Masonic Lodge, Emerald Lodge #377, 710 Main Street, Wartburg, TN 37887, or to the Sunbright High School science program, 205 Burrville Rd, Sunbright, TN 37872. The family of Wayne Brewster wishes to thank the American Best Care Hospice of Dallas, TX as well as the  Schubert Funeral Home.
