Wilma Davis, of Petros, TN

Mrs. Wilma Liles Davis affectionately known as “Miss Wilma” died August 28, 2018 in the Life Care Center of Morgan County. She was born January 4, 1930.  She was a faithful member of Petros Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher of thirty years from Petros Elementary and Petros Joyner Elementary. Miss Wilma’s was a happy person who loved spending time with her family, attending church and senior meetings, dancing and fishing in her earlier years. She also enjoyed meeting and talking with her former students and learning where life has taken them.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William H. (Bill) and Ettie White Liles; husband, Henry Davis; brothers, Roy (Helen), Reece and Roger (Peggy); sisters, Rema Ladd (R.C) and Linna Long.

She is survived by her one brother, Ralph (Sueanne) and two sisters, Euphema (Bobby) Weiford and Judy (Bill) Layne; sister-in-law, Carolyn Liles; brother-in-law, Jerry Longs and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Dr. Jim West officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the New Petros Cemetery.

Miss Wilma’s family is most appreciative of the kindnesses and love shown to her and to them during her illness. A special thank you is extended to the nurses and staff at Life Care and to Schubert Funeral Home.
