Yvonne Armes

Yvonne M. Armes, born July 29, 1936, in Lancing, Tennessee, passed away November 15, 2025 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was of the Baptist faith. A retired postal employee who served 30 years in the Lancing community. She loved gardening and planting flowers to make the world a more beautiful place. She was selfless and devoted to her entire family all of whom she loved dearly. She always put others needs before her own willingly.

She is preceded in death by Parents, Dewey and Gertie Melton; husband Vaughn D. Armes; sisters Kathleen Byrd and Husband Jim Byrd, Christine and Ermadean Melton, Brother Eugene Melton; children Kimberly Jade Newport, Lanny Armes, Robin Elaine Daugherty, Joy Nell Armes, Tamela G. Nelson.

Survived by sons Scott D. Armes and wife Angie of Harriman, Matthew M. Armes and wife Sara of Harriman; brother Douglas Melton and wife Karen of Sunbright; sister Emma Lou Newman and husband Raymon of Lancing; several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services Thursday, November 20th at 2:00 pm, Schubert Funeral Home chapel in Wartburg, with Bro. Charles Webb officiating. Interment to follow Clear Creek Cemetery, Lancing TN.
