Mayagile Newport, formerly of Deer Lodge

Mayagile (Mae) Newport, age 82 passed away on March 31, 2020 at Heartland Kettering Assisted Living Complex in Dayton, OH.

She was born in Deer Lodge, TN on July 16, 1937, and after graduating from Sunbright High School in 1956, she moved to Dayton, Ohio where she worked for the telephone company.

In addition to her parents of Deer Lodge, Leonard and Belle Hawn, she was preceded in death by her husband John F. Newport (Buster), two sons Terry Deshaun and Jeffery Leonard Newport and granddaughter Chasity Ronsheim all of Dayton.

Siblings preceding her in death were Marjorie Brown (Sam), Lois Jones (Leamon), Kenneth Hawn (Marie), Billy J. Hawn and Norman Hawn all of Deer Lodge and Agnes Laughlin (Howard) of Junction City, Kansas.

Surviving are one granddaughter Melissa Stewart and four great granddaughters all of Dayton, OH.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, April 3, 2020 at 1 pm at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Deer Lodge, TN, with Rev. Wayne Matthews officiating.
