Mrs. Rosa Lee (Hamby) Greene passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on October 2, 2020. She was born on August 27,1939 in her home in the Gobey Community. Rosa was a lifelong resident of Morgan County. She worked as an inspector and eventually retired from Red Kap, where she made lifelong friends and memories that she forever cherished. She also owned and operated Rocky Fork Jamboree with her husband Bruce. Rosa was of Baptist Faith and was a member at Liberty Baptist Church in Wartburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Bruce Love Greene Jr.; Her Parents Clyde and Willie Esta Hamby; Brothers: Luther, Tillman, Harrison, and Junior Hamby; Sister, Shirley Hamby Schaefer; granddaughter, Malinda Anne Greene; and brother in law John Rhea.
She is survived by Son Bruce David Greene; Daughter in Law and devoted caretaker Keela Neal Greene; Granddaughter Danielle Greene McCartt and husband Samuel; Granddaughter Sophia Greene; great grandsons Camden And Colt; brother Charles “Gus” Hamby and wife Joan; sisters Elsie Byrd, Earvie Hamby, Linda Ridings, Mattie Rhea, and Anna (Gideon) Ward; brother and sister in law James and Janet Greene; sister in law Florel Hamby; treasured friends Jeannie Greene and Alicia Williams; and host of special nieces and nephews .
The family will receive friends at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg on October 6, 2020 from 5:00-7:00pm with funeral to follow at 7:00pm with Dr. Paul Frick officiating. Burial will be held on Wednesday October 7, 2020 in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
The family would like to give a special thanks for Rosa’s hospice care team - especially Amanda, Renea, and Brenda for the excellent care they gave her during her extended illness.
